⚠ "Your max" shows your effective upper limit after category/special relaxation. Limits may vary by recruitment cycle — always verify from the official RPSC notification.
The Rajasthan Public Service Commission specifies a cutoff date in every recruitment notification — almost always 01 January of the year stated, with one notable exception: RPSC Assistant Professor uses 01 July. Your age is calculated in completed years on that date: a candidate born on January 1, 1987 is exactly 40 years old on January 1, 2027 and therefore within the 40-year limit; a candidate born December 31, 1986 is 40 years and one day old and is still within the limit; a candidate born January 1, 1986 is exactly 41 and is overage.
Most RPSC posts cap the general upper age at 40 years, but there are two confirmed exceptions: Statistical Officer allows up to 45 years (not 40), and Junior Accountant caps at 35 years. Reserved-category candidates with a valid Rajasthan domicile certificate receive additional years above these limits. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/MBC male candidates get 5 extra years; the same categories for female candidates get 10 extra years; General female candidates get 5 extra years. PwD candidates receive 10, 13, or 15 extra years depending on their base category. Widows and divorced women face no upper age limit at all.
Non-Rajasthan domicile candidates belonging to reserved categories are treated as General for age relaxation purposes, regardless of their category in their home state. Always verify exact limits from the official notification PDF for your specific post and recruitment cycle, as limits can change.
The RPSC RAS age limit for General category male candidates is 21 to 40 years, calculated as on 01 January of the cutoff year. Reserved category candidates with Rajasthan domicile get an additional 5–10 years. For the 2026 notification, the cutoff is 01 January 2027.
OBC and MBC male candidates with Rajasthan domicile get 5 additional years above the general maximum. OBC and MBC female candidates with Rajasthan domicile get 10 additional years. Without Rajasthan domicile, no relaxation is given and they are treated as General.
No. Widow, divorced, and judicially separated women who have not remarried have no upper age limit for RPSC examinations under Rajasthan Government rules. They must still meet the minimum age and educational qualification requirements.
Person with Disability (PwD/PH) candidates get 10 extra years in the General or EWS category, 13 years if OBC or MBC, and 15 years if SC or ST. For a base limit of 40 years this means a maximum of 50, 53, or 55 years respectively. Always verify the exact figures from the official notification for your specific post.
There is no fixed attempt limit for RPSC RAS. Candidates can appear as many times as they wish, as long as they remain within the age limit. For Junior Accountant, General category candidates are limited to 3 attempts; SC/ST candidates have no attempt limit.
The RPSC Junior Accountant age limit is 21 to 35 years for General category male candidates on the cutoff date. Reserved category candidates with Rajasthan domicile receive the standard relaxation. General category candidates are limited to 3 attempts; SC/ST candidates are not restricted by attempt count.
